Bhoj here means treat. Whenever we chat or meet someone, one of the first few questions we generally come across is “what’s going on?“, “what’s new?“… We never give thought about what is it that I have done new or done differently in last few days. Also, many of us always talk about life being boring, nothing to do around, etc. Never giving a thought about why is it so boring at all.

Well, it is the way we choose it to be. If we choose to do our chores differently, try something new at times, we can make our life interesting, funny, different without doing something very big. Don’t we always go for our favourite flavor in icecream, juices, etc., most of time same set of dishes everytime we go to a particular restaurant (Jeera Aloo, one of my favs ) or same boring repeated lifestyle weeks after weeks… Its very clear that we limit our options, restrict our lifestyle the way we choose it to be. It reflects the way we feel about it.

Its the same with me also most of the time. But obviosly sometimes feels like doing things differently, try something new. So, the message is very clear..

try something different and i hope you will enjoy that moment. And different doesn’t mean it has to be a unique idea which no one has done before, it just has to be something other than the usual stuff.

Do let all of us also know as comment to the post. We might also like to try that out. Anyways, I think I should talk about the BHOJ for which I started writing this one.

I had to treat my friends for the launch of OnBoard – BITS Online Notice Board (my achievement this semester at BITS Pilani on which I was working for last few months). And there came the idea of doing something different & making it memorable. Usually whenever someone gives treat, everyone is informed by calls, sms, mails, etc. To make it different, I created an event at the Google Calendar and sent a formal invite in hindi to everyone. You can see the screenshot of the invite below.

Now that was about the invite. Most of the time, we see dress code in parties in movies, tv, etc. When I was discussing about the treat with Ankit & Chetan, it just struck me that lets ask everyone to come in red. Obviously they disagreed. But I had to do it. First hurdle is over when you get the idea and the last one when you take the first step towards it. If you have read the entire invite above, you might already know the dress code. Well, I simply asked all of them to wear anything above waist (be it shirt, t-shirt, kurta, top, etc) to be either in Red or Black in colour and anything below (jeans, trousers, etc) to be the colour of their choice. Now why the selection of Red and Black (combination of energy, passion and darkness, negativity). Just like that. Ya, I do like both the colours. What else. It was fun. All of them turned up in either red or black. The introduction of invited guests (which I gave) was interesting as it was a mix of my OnBoard team, my ME batchmate friends, my senior (on paper) friends. We all enjoyed alot. I hope the people present would agree with me. Thanks to all for making it memorable. Special mention of Rajan Pandey. As he was out of station, after reaching Pilani he directly joined us. It would have been more fun if everyone could have made to the treat. The people present can definitely add more in the form of comments.

That was one of my idea of doing something different. Be different and let us know. More to come…

Enjoy Life! (Whatever you have got?)

Blogs have been around for more than 10 years now and I have been religiously reading or better said following few of them for quite sometime now e.g.?news, then technical mostly google product blogs, few friends/individual blogs and in hot list right now are PHP, AJAX web development blogs (more on this in another future post… ).

I always think that how people write so much, so well composed sentences and blah, blah. Saying that it is obvious that I wanted to write one myself but could not do so for a long time. I remember I had created my blogger account (http://ajayrungta.blogspot.com/) way back in 2005 after Blogger was bought by Google but not integrated fully, titled Love & Friendship containing two one liner blogs which sounds funny to me now (obviously removed few days back). Well those one liners could not take the form of another para till today.

This can be justified with various lame reasons – having the notion that I can’t write one OR thinking that what will people think about it OR whether I will be able to write a good one or not OR lack of confidence in putting your thoughts in words OR just thinking that your english is not that good, etc. I feel all this is because of an individual thought process and nothing else. Eveything boils down to the way one thinks. In most of the cases we create our own version of every situation around where the reality differs. Too much of philosophy I guess .

I have always believed that it is never late for anything and also there is always a first time for everything be it taking your first breathe in this heaven, uttering your first word, the list is infinite. In short every damn thing we do. But the big question is why now? Well, I feel as of now I can only relate this to one point. The reason is that I am gradually shifting to better thought process which is:

Whatever you feel like doing, just do it… whatever it is… Don’t think about what others will say… they have always been saying and will keep doing that even after you are long gone… Don’t think whether you will be able to manage it, find time… It’s very simple… if you think you can then you will be able to do that… the first step makes the whole lot of difference… and then everything falls in place… Well it sounds simple in words but in practice it is even simpler than this

With this I announce the beginning of a new era (might sound lame to few/many, doesn’t matter) . Things will be different from now on. I am happy that I could finally DO IT! Thanks for the patience.
